WHAT DOES A PELVIC Physical therapist DO?

A pelvic health physical therapist is a skilled healthcare professional who undergoes specialized training to address pelvic floor dysfunction. During the initial assessment, we determine the treatment plan and work with you to create goals in order to address any problems we may find. This usually includes manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, behavioral training, and exercise prescription to help you achieve these goals.

pessary fitting/Management

A pessary is an orthotic that aids in symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.

Dr. Tyler Kornblum, PT, DPT is trained and certified in fitting and sizing pessaries for patients when appropriate. While this is not the first solution for everyone, it can provide significant relief of symptoms and allow function of the pelvic floor for those experiencing symptoms such as pelvic heaviness, pelvic pressure, pelvic pain, and stress urinary incontinence.
