Laura’s first passion for movement and exercise started in high school when she was a three-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, and soccer.  During that time as a high school athlete and into college when she competed in intramurals and obstacle course racing, she sustained multiple injuries and became more exposed to physical therapy as a profession. Ultimately, this led her to pursue physical therapy as a career with the goal of helping active individuals get and stay healthy. While Laura loves treating all patients, she has a particular passion in treating patients with jaw pain (TMD), neck pain & headaches, and hip pain, with a special interest in building therapeutic alliance with patients through active listening.

After completing her doctorate of physical therapy, she pursued further specialized training in orthopedics in a residency at Ohio State. Laura discovered the value of manual therapy or hands on techniques after realizing it enhanced her practice to holistically treat patients during residency. To further enhance her skill set, she continued on after residency with focused training in a Fellowship in Manual Therapy at Ohio State. Her Fellowship, while all-encompassing of the body, was highly focused on the head and neck (including the jaw), spine, and hip. Also, during her fellowship, Laura had the opportunity to pursue another passion of hers, teaching. This has enhanced Laura’s ability to stay up-to date on the recent research in physical therapy as well as refined her ability to communicate with patients. Currently, Laura is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, teaching first year DPT students examination skills.

When not at the clinic, Laura loves to be outdoors, hiking, playing volleyball, exercising, skiing, traveling, hanging out with her husband and friends, and sharing her Wisconsin roots of loving custard and cheese.
